Playgroups

Playgroups are non-profit groups or small gatherings of parents/guardians/caregivers and their pre-school aged children. 

Playgroups are most often run by parent management committees, and even if they charge fees, the cost is kept at a minimum. They also offer the opportunity for parents or caregivers to become volunteers as helpers or as members of the management committee.

Most playgroups cater to children between two and four years of age but there are some that accept younger children.

Most playgroups will provide slots for 10 to 20 children and will accept no more than 26 children in one room.
