Kids Nutrition
Pleasing children is difficult, especially when they seem to prefer everything that is bad for them. Food affects the way children grow. A child’s nutrition is crucial to overall health. Proper nutrition can help prevent medical problems. It is important to give them a balanced diet representing the five food groups namely grains, fruits and vegetables, milk and dairy, meat and beans plus fats and oils. All these food groups are essential for growth and development. However, this does not mean that every meal has to be balanced, just that over each day the food should add up to a balance. If fruit and vegetables are missing at lunch, make up for it in the afternoon with a snack of vegetable crudités or fruit pieces. Eating well ensures a child physically grows to his full potential.
